Native in London
Standing over the wild flowers we have let grow in place of grass in the yard I see a furry little bee flying from flower to flower. The bee makes me happy, since they have become rare in London and my little patch of flower may help a small hive to survive. I am like the native on the Discovery channel, watching his world collapse hoping to see the return of a species of grazing animal, or bird, or fish. Only I am an IT consultant living in London, desperately hoping the bees don't become extinct.
I am already in that city the native hunter feared being forced in to. But his vanishing nature has found me here.
